Meteora World Tour was the third concert tour by American alternative rock band Linkin Park. It was launched in support of Linkin Park's second studio album, ''Meteora'' (2003). The tour started on January 16, 2004 in Fairfax, Virginia and ended on September 11, 2004 in São Paulo, Brazil. The duration of the tour was close to nine months. == Background ==
Following the Meteora Tour of 2003, during a performance at the KROQ Almost Acoustic X-Mas show, Linkin Park mentioned that they wanted to give fans some previous of the songs that they'll be playing on the Meteora World Tour, Shinoda stated "...before we come back in January for our Meteora World Tour, to follow that up, we wanted to give you guys a previous of some of the songs that we haven't yet...".〔https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6zERO-Tn3Y〕 While performing at a show in Inglewood on March 15, Shinoda mentioned that it was the last day of the Meteora World Tour but on a LPTV episode, Rob Bourdon mention that the band was heading to São Paulo, BR to finish-up the world tour for Meteora then later Brad Delson mentioned, "...the touring cycle for Meteora is completed...". Delson mentioned that they heading back to Los Angeles to begin the writing and recording session for the next album, but eventually, the band took a break from recording, giving Shinoda a chance to startup his solo-project, Fort Minor.〔https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ayaeSBLlj8〕
